Firefox 3 Beta 2: The Giant Robot Edition

Robots are awesome. Giant Robots are awesomer.

It's Firefox... RUN towards it!

Seriously, though. Are we supposed to be afraid of the huge building destroying robot? What does the city signify, IE users? And what’s the deal with the UFO’s in the background?

Am I reading too much into it? Highly likely. But it’s much more snappier. MUCH more snappier. John Resig thinks so.

And snazzier too… one example is when Firefox asks you if it should remember your password. No longer is it a separate dialog box which would disrupt the flow between pages, but instead it’s a much more muted slidedown-style dialog row of text. I don’t know what you call it, but it’s awesome. I’m pretty sure this was done before in IE (Insistent IE ActiveX warnings and others), but it’s a welcomed changed here.

And something with the text… is it anti-aliased? It just feels more softer than usual. I guess I should consult the changelogs.

Facebook Updates, Again…

The ‘Friends’ pages got a lovely update. Everything is so much more AJAXy… delicious.

Now you can make a “List” for your friends, so you can keep groups of people handy for sending out spam… er… invitations.

Just recently they got of “is” in the status messages.

Good to see finally that they’re adding features that users have been wanting for quite a while… maybe Facebook is trying to make up for the Beacon fiasco.

EDIT: Friend removal has become much easier with the little “x” in the Friends page. Interesting.

Days are going by quick…

Must have something to do with this HanMeta mess.

Hopefully, by this weekend, I’ll have some more to show… but for now, this’ll have to do.

Time to go read like a madman.

Facebook “is” isn’t

When did this happen, and why am I realizing this only now?

Now I can make more silly programming jokes, hooray!

EDIT: Okay, so other people are seeing it too.

Another Weekend of Code

This past weekend was well spent, inside. Good thing I had enough food to last through the insanity that is freezing rain.

Definitely made some headway into what I wanted to do with the projects I have. Wrote some code, but mostly throwaway. Looked into a lot of the new Rails 2.0 stuff, but only to realize how little Rails I know period. Also added a third to HanMeta, and I hope to keep adding more people as time passes, and… you know… as I get grander ideas. I’m sure I’ll tap on some shoulders as time passes.

And hopefully, soon enough, LLC is in the future. Need a lawyer and an accountant… yikes.

And that’s all the update I have with regards to HanMeta. I have some nice wrist support gloves to aid me in my wrist painness and it feels like they are working.
