Blogging About the Blog AKA It’s a SECOND POST of the day!

Without any fancy dates or loud rollouts, I’m just going to try and speak frankly about this blog.

Who’s the audience?

It’s kinda interesting how my tone has changed over the years. Wow. It’s been 6 years. I know this because I started that JKmain Journals site of mine in my senior year of high school. Anyway, I have yet to merge all of my previous posts and put it up online, but I’m almost hesitant to do it. This is due to the fact that back in those days, the audience was quite a bit different.

The audience was less than 10 people. I wasn’t really thinking at the time about writing posts that actually was any use to anyone else but the people that were involved in the events I was writing about. I still have the documenting photos of my spring break during senior year, in which a couple of the guys basically sat around and played video games at different people’s houses. Who else would be interested in the pictures and commentary? Heck, who would be interested in the commentary itself?

Indeed. The audience has changed. Now it’s become not only my friends, but the Internet savvy as well: The web developers to anyone who enjoys a good web applications now and then. At least, that’s what I say. In the end, if I ever decide to put up some commentary on Korean culture, the audience could grow to something more.

Heck, if Google ends up being the gateway to some of the more random content on the site, then it really shouldn’t matter all that much about who my general audience is. As long as I hit the core, I’ll probably be fine. Which isn’t to say that the web savvy won’t find this site through the Interwebs. Looks like the Xanga posts and the Fluid vs Prism post (Fluid still rocks, by the way… and I’ve been illegally messing around with Safari 4, and still, I like Fluid more in some ways…) are being visited quite often.

The point of this is that I just need to keep writing about things that will interest most core audience people, while at the same time writing about things that I care about. Ah, the balance. The extremeness in me doesn’t like balance.

Topics of Interest

Basically, look at the Categories of this site, and hopefully, you’ll get a feel for what I talk about here. And really, now that I think about it, those categories are indeed a pretty good overview of what I try to write on this blog. The Video Games category is going to get some loving, hopefully, if my wrists get any better.

I definitely want to start reviewing stuff I’ve bought and sold in the past. (Hopefully try to make some money off of affiliate links from Amazon or something, heh.)

More importantly though, I have to have an outlet for personal crap. I wonder if all that stuff should go somewhere else less public… I know of plenty of developers that keep their professional and personal blogs separate. I might have to think about that approach, seeing how I’m not really writing the personal posts to make any money off of contextual advertising. (Heck, I’m not really doing that right now, anyway…)

Other Projects?

Screencast. It’ll basically be on using web applications. Maybe Mac/iPhone applications. I’d like to have it be more UI centric than anything else. However, I need to name it. I need to make a schedule for it, maybe weekly.

As most of my readers know, I’ve started a company to start developing some web products. Pretty much, nothing has been seen on that front (to the public). I’ve done some client work here and there, but that wasn’t the point of the company. HanMeta was made so that I would focus on creating web properties. But yeah, I’ve been wanting to document that. Hopefully, the actual project will get started so I’ll have something to write about… basically a continuation of the last post that the category “HanMeta” had.

Oh look, the last post is talking about StatusFix. Heh.

A couple of other ideas are rolling in my mind, but really, I’m just starting to get back into the swing of things. Remember that last post? Yeap. FUEL. This post was basically fuel for the fuel.

“Fuel for the fuel for the fuel” post? Thankfully, I don’t and can’t go beyond two levels of meta-ness. It hurts my head to go that far.

You’ve just been meta’d. Wasn’t that fun?
