No one at ISR. Grainger’s Closed. The third magical door at Siebel is locked.

Where is a man supposed to go and get some work done around here?

Instead, I ended up wasting an hour, driving around.

I guess not all the people are back yet… and the people who are back… are total lamers. Tee hee. I’m kidding. I met like… a TON of people at WIMPE. Let’s see… I met James, my past small group leader. I met Andrew Lee (who called me a gym rat, by the way… I guess I do go daily, but I’m not a “gym rat”… that status is reserved for those that are jacked out of their minds, and that isn’t me), last year’s small group member. I was so happy to run into my Kim Jong Gook AKA David Yi. I still remember when I christened him with that name… and when he started to watch Xman like insane. Oh, and I also ran into Andrew Wu! WU WU! It was sooo long since I saw that kid. I thought he graduated and moved onto better things… but he’s here! Now the ISR 8 reunion is looking more possible by the minute. Vincar and Mike Lee was also there. I swear, that Vincar kid is getting enormous. Mike… he’s always enormous. But yes, it was all these cool guys. Only guys.
Boo girls. Boo.

But yes, before WIMPE: I drove to church with Brian. After an amazing sermon on how we should act with eternity in mind, I rocked out with David Kim and Bi AKA Matt Lee with Brian Liu at my place. It was some good times with the Chinese Black Bean Noodles… I only know the less salty Korean “Jja Jang Myun”. Oh, and the Bears won. I think I might have to start getting into football again… just to keep up with everyone.

I had a baked potato today, disregarding the carbohydrates that I’d be consuming. Screw that. Potatoes are yummy. But the baking took way too long… but be the weaksauce toaster oven.

Man, I need to stop hanging around Dan Sun. I’m going to start attaching “-sauce… age” to everything I say. I might be going to WIMPE yet again with that kid “tomollo”. Frick.

Another week has started. Are YOU ready?

Actually, for those that just got back, it’s a start of a new semester after tomorrow! Hope all things will go well, if not, better than last semester. I know I’ve got my goals… I know you’ve got yours. Rock out! For whoever or whatever you live your life for!

And freaking… I need to write my thoughts on the iPhone. People are bugging me left and right, because they think I’m some crazed Apple fanatic. (Which I am… but still… there’s some issues with the iPhone…)

Instead of meeting with four out of the five roommates from last year, I had dinner with just one: Gil. It’s been a while since I ate out… and that’s only a very good sign. Definitely got to catch up on a lot of things… I guess he’ll be trying to take a couple courses leading into a Master’s in Education. That’s awesome good news… he seems like he’s so good with the little people.

I definitely felt like God was speaking through Gil, though. I had to tell him the things that were going on… relational issues was the number one talked thing. I got a clearer understanding of how I should continue to fight myself and my desires.

And from this I realized yet something else… I’m just so thankful that there are people out there wiser than I am. [Points to the sky] Regardless of age, EVERYONE is able to see things differently… and through those different points of view I learn so much about me and about them. While I’m here on campus with the students of UIUC and with the church members of CFC, I need to keep being thankful for all things.

I finally called up Grace Sue, after which I found out that she indeed didn’t get my phone number from the last time I called her… no biggie. I went over to her and Ester’s place after my Dinner with Gil, where I found Dan chilling as well.

This is where it gets interesting. I guess I’m going to be joining a small group. I’m not sure, but it looks like my good ol’ Wednesday might be the day. Inadvertently, I found out basically who all the leaders were for the small groups. I decided this shouldn’t play a role in selecting my small group, and should be giving Mr. Chris Sotelo and email.

I need to stop writing these senseless sentimental posts. I need to start putting up some good content in the area of my expertise.

No, not John Hodgman’s “Areas of Expertise”. That was silly.

So I guess my goal of meeting these people… Derek, Dan, Gil, Grace… have all been met. Everyone else I met today was just bonus. Sweet sweet bonus.

Realizing more and more how much I lack… but realizing how much more there is to gain.

Started the work week definitely strong. I don’t know how, but I got up 20 minutes before my alarm hit. It was an angry 20 minutes of sleep, but I guess it helped a bit.

From 7:30 to 3, I worked straight through, without a lunch break. Afterwards… wow… I definitely was tired. I caught up on some XMan (Korean Variety Show), and headed for WIMPE. All this week, Dan Sun and I will be doing some much needed cardio. I definitely missed out on that while Dean was here…

Derek, why don’t you return my facebook posts? Boo! I’m going to call this one after work tomorrow to see if he wants to hang out… oh wait, after WIMPE.

I wonder if I should go into work tomorrow or Wednesday. I feel very tired… I didn’t get my 20 minutes of happiness.

Ah, and so now we’re into the meat of the post.

As I dropped off Dan with his groceries, I stopped by Gil’s apartment. Gil was a roommate I had my senior year… it was a pleasure of having this older brother still on campus…
And this is when I realized my lesson of the day: It’s not about crying about what you don’t have, or just making do with what you do have. It’s about being so utterly thankful for EVERYTHING, in lack of or in abundance of ANYTHING… It can’t be one extreme or another. You can’t just be down on yourself for what you don’t have… but also you can’t be satisfied with just what you do have, and never reach out farther than you’re used to.
Okay, in that last sentence, I mistyped “your”. Oh holy crap I’m getting tired.

Right, so let’s keep going with the brain on autopilot and run through a couple of things.

Backs and shoulders day cannot go after biceps and forearms. There must be something in between. Legs should be the fourth day in the regimen, and could be used as a break in between these two. Tomorrow starts up triceps and chest… Maybe the new schedule should be…

Chest/Triceps, Biceps/Forearms, Legs/More Abs Than Normal/Rest, Backs/Shoulders. For each day, have abs and cardio. Alternate between distance running (either on elliptical or track) and short distance (1 mile) per day.

Hooray for lifting gloves. Not only was WIMPE $130, but the gloves $10. More reason to go lifting… use that inner stingy Asian man!

And… I have nothing to report for today. Man… I need to get some time to myself and start writing some technical stuff.

Oh, and, MacWorld is tomorrow. It’s gotta be iPhone and iTV, but less so the iTV. Meh.

Might as well continue with the list.

I’m falling behind on the Bible reading. Gotta catch up slowly but surely.

Starting up back again for foreign languages. Daily… just like the Word.

Oh freaking rails… how much more I want to learn you.

If you’ve read this until now… wow, I feel loved. But really, you didn’t have to do that…

Now that I’ve caught up with my daily postings… here comes the list of things to come.

Dean Knox: He will be leaving for Chicago tomorrow. I’m going to miss him… for about a week. I’m sure we’ll see each other more often… actually, I lied. He’s most likely go into a hole larger than last year, with his 18 hour course-load, as well as his job. Need to make sure to pray for him while he’s away in Boston, talking to all those Harvard peoples.

Dan Sun: Got back tonight to Champaign. He’ll be working at Moto like he did last semester for this week and for the semester to come. He’ll become my new WIMPE partner. I finally get to do some cardio… whew… And I Dan’s going to be a replacement chef for Dean, also. I’m sure Dan’s got lots of things to teach me in the art of cooking.

Grace Sue: Randomly running into her today definitely made me smile. We haven’t kept in touch for… like… two years. The one time I remember seeing her was running into her at 12:30 service 2nd semester, senior year. Hopefully, I’ll be meeting up with her before the small group schedules start up again.

Derek Remund: I will hang out with him, either on Monday or Tuesday, depending on what’s better for him. Dean occupied the last few days, but I need to have some nice times with my good ol’ freshman year roommate. I’m sure there will be much Guitar Hero-ing, as well as some “The Office” episodes… Yum.

John Kim: If this kid ever comes to town… then we’ll hang out. But other than that, I can’t promise anything.

ex-Atrium 103: My last year roommates. We’ll have dinner maybe on Thursday.

Basically, the rest of the week is the same old. I’ll work in the mornings… hopefully I’ll be able to procure a parking spot before the semester starts… The three jobs I have, plus the blog… as well as reading the Bible and other random things, as well as restarting with Japanese and Hanja. Freaking Ruby… is still on the list…

Absolutely nothing has changed… I don’t like how I can’t cross things off the list so fast anymore. It seems like most of my things to do are… going to take some time. I guess I’m realizing more and more how impatient I am in a lot of ways.

So, alas, here’s to another week. Waking up at 7 AM. I love routines… when then work out…

Maybe I should start aiming for 6, to get myself to MP… I’m going to give this a more serious thought if I do get a parking pass on campus.
