Why… Hello there, Sun!

Blast it. It’s another all nighter. And for what?

After a rousing exercise routine (backs and shoulders), I decided to go home.

I was nearing ISR, then suddenly… I decided to poke around a bit. A “little” bit turned into “quite” a bit.

I felt like I haven’t seen these guys in weeks. Two weeks, actually, since last week was Spring Break for them, as well as the week before… well… I was busy.

The first thing I run into… what the heck… it’s a group of people trying to imitate Bae Seul Gi’s Bokko Dance. Quite random. Then I visited the Knox/Das/Liao palace in Wardall. Then stopped by the business major’s studying in Wardall lounge.

Oh, the funny thing is how two random strangers pointed out that my earbuds were Sennheiser CX-300’s. I guess it pays to be… particular about your earbuds. Indeed, I’m loving these.

Then… I ended up debugging Brian Chung’s MP for a few minutes. Man, I missed the good ol’ days when I had to get down and dirty with C in ECE 199 (now called ECE 190). I’m not lying: I actually do. It’s kinda funny, but it seems as though you think you’re not going to miss it ever… and you end up missing it quite a bit.

But all my garbage electrical engineering classes? Yes. I will always not miss them. Ever.

It seems like the ECE/CS course load at UIUC is getting weirder. I don’t know if I should say harder or easier, but I think it’s becoming more relevant. Looking at the CS coursework: I feel like I want to go back for a BA in CS… all the classes look so fun!

And… indeed… it is 4:30 AM.

I have yet to write a good entry… this is getting quite annoying…

A VERY long day

After going to sleep at around 3 AM (not sure… I just kept reading the Bible), I woke up again before the alarm at 7:30, only to be so tired that I decided to cut down on RSS time and get like 15 minutes more sleep.

Missed the bus that would have taken me to work by 9, but instead took the next one to make it by 9:30. Worked like a crazy person until 2 PM, with no discernible break in between… and I’m still not done. Lots to do tomorrow… but I wonder if I can get out of going in. Trackball’s supposed to come by mail, and I wonder if someone’s going to be here to accept the package.

I decided to stick around campus and finish up what little lunch I packed. Read through the Bible… I feel more and more confident and able to point out where things are in the Old Testament each day… I feel like it’s fast becoming my textbook on life.

Took the bus back, then without warning, I fell into a deep sleep. Then woke up and started going through my feeds, yet again… to find out that a friend needed a ride to a meeting, and she was already late. Taking this as a sign, I packed myself a very VERY light dinner (comprising of grapes and yogurt… wow, I’m such a girl…) and got ready to head for WIMPE.

But you see, my day should have ended with me, coming back home, making dinner, and going to bed. NOPE. I went to ISR, to meet the likes of Colin, Christine, Andrew, Ken, Jon Chu; and the list goes on and on…

And I feel like this all-nighter was only possible because of those people. Well, yeah, they did take up my time and forced me into this position… but what I’m saying is that the energy that these guys spewed forth into me… something about being near students again makes me feel alive.

Oh, a sidepoint: For the first time since… that one really messed up night during college… I had a nosebleed. This happened while I was helping Christine with her ECE 205. I have a theory: My brain freaked out when it started getting bombarded with resistors and diodes. I can’t believe I still remember some of this stuff.

Just goes to show you: God’ll redeem everything. Even elementary circuit analysis.

Now, to the code and to the writing of worthwhile posts.

By Request: Pictures of ISR. Kinda.

Pile O' Snow

I had to climb over this wall of snow to get to ISR yesterday. Oh man, it really was too much snow…

Wardall

This isn’t a joke. This snow hill was as high as the first floor to Wardall.

There. I think fulfilled Cathy’s request.

Maybe next time, I should take some pictures of the inside.

What a Week!

I am now a proud member of ISR 9, lead by Karlo and Jonie. From the looks of it, this is going to be one seriously interesting small group. Now, I don’t know if this is where God is leading… Ken stopped me and asked if I would like to join his, since his small group has 7 freshmen and they’re in dire need of a car… but I don’t know. Maybe if I knew how the small group selection process worked. I only asked to be placed into a Wednesday night small group because of my love of symmetry (Sunday Service, Wednesday Small Group, Friday Large Group). We’ll see how this turns out.

Large Group. “The Office” spoof was almost dead on, with the unsteady camera shots and each of the guys being someone from the actual show. Oh, how I miss running through all those episodes with Derek… which reminds me, I think I’m going to hang out with him some more tomorrow… I hope I get all my work done.

Dodgeball at Canaan. That was some good times. I think I threw out my arms in the process (definitely should NOT have done biceps and forearms). I also screwed up my knee. I like sliding on the floor with them.

Tired. I don’t know what led me to wake up so early and go to morning prayer. I just want to make sure that I’m not doing this for anyone but God. But of course, motives can’t be 100% pure… I just need to make sure I get my butt up and spend an hour with God.

Which brings me to my last point: I wonder where my day goes. Here’s a snapshot of a 24 hour period.

1 hour: Bible/Prayer. Yeap… at LEAST… 1 hour: Something else… like foreign language, or musical interests… or drawing… or something 1 hour: Cooking. I cook. I aim for an hour per meal, from prep work to cleanup. However, all this week, I don’t think I had a proper dinner. One night, I had this ghetto rice with eggs and albacore tuna. Protein galore, but not very… yeah, you know what I mean. 2 hours: WIMPE. Lift for 1 hour, run for 30 minutes. Actually, this turns out to be longer than 2 sometimes, or shorter. It evens out to 2 in the long run, I think.

1 hour: Travel. If I need to go on campus, or go to work, this is how long it takes, on average, to walk out to the bus stop and take the bus OR drive and find a parking spot. This also counts for the times I go to ISR now and then. 1 hour: Bathroom/Shower. I think this is pretty good. No more questions. 7 hours: Sleep. I have to get a nap in from time to time… but this has to get shortened. This is too long.

This leaves 10 hours for work. I can’t believe it. Where does the time go? Of course, I can take half an hour here and there and make it a longer work day, but dizang, where does the time go?

Tomorrow is nothing different. Gotta get to shopping, and get to WIMPE, and get to ISR to work and meet people.

This is indeed… the start of something new.

Thank you, GOD, for the sermon tonight… I will apply it directly to forehead, head-… um, yeah. I will apply it daily… directly to… stop.

Whoo hoo! I’m insane! It’s 4 AM! I woke up this time yesterday!

What the HECK!

No one at ISR. Grainger’s Closed. The third magical door at Siebel is locked.

Where is a man supposed to go and get some work done around here?

Instead, I ended up wasting an hour, driving around.

I guess not all the people are back yet… and the people who are back… are total lamers. Tee hee. I’m kidding. I met like… a TON of people at WIMPE. Let’s see… I met James, my past small group leader. I met Andrew Lee (who called me a gym rat, by the way… I guess I do go daily, but I’m not a “gym rat”… that status is reserved for those that are jacked out of their minds, and that isn’t me), last year’s small group member. I was so happy to run into my Kim Jong Gook AKA David Yi. I still remember when I christened him with that name… and when he started to watch Xman like insane. Oh, and I also ran into Andrew Wu! WU WU! It was sooo long since I saw that kid. I thought he graduated and moved onto better things… but he’s here! Now the ISR 8 reunion is looking more possible by the minute. Vincar and Mike Lee was also there. I swear, that Vincar kid is getting enormous. Mike… he’s always enormous. But yes, it was all these cool guys. Only guys. Boo girls. Boo.

But yes, before WIMPE: I drove to church with Brian. After an amazing sermon on how we should act with eternity in mind, I rocked out with David Kim and Bi AKA Matt Lee with Brian Liu at my place. It was some good times with the Chinese Black Bean Noodles… I only know the less salty Korean “Jja Jang Myun”. Oh, and the Bears won. I think I might have to start getting into football again… just to keep up with everyone.

I had a baked potato today, disregarding the carbohydrates that I’d be consuming. Screw that. Potatoes are yummy. But the baking took way too long… but be the weaksauce toaster oven.

Man, I need to stop hanging around Dan Sun. I’m going to start attaching “-sauce… age” to everything I say. I might be going to WIMPE yet again with that kid “tomollo”. Frick.

Another week has started. Are YOU ready?

Actually, for those that just got back, it’s a start of a new semester after tomorrow! Hope all things will go well, if not, better than last semester. I know I’ve got my goals… I know you’ve got yours. Rock out! For whoever or whatever you live your life for!

And freaking… I need to write my thoughts on the iPhone. People are bugging me left and right, because they think I’m some crazed Apple fanatic. (Which I am… but still… there’s some issues with the iPhone…)
